Hi, my name is Ben Shapiro and i'm a green belt in Zen judoka from Sensei Calvalcanti's club in the United States. I am going to teach beginning judo at college where there are no zen judo of kyu shin do black belts. Does anybody know how i should formally begin classes, not having achieved a black belt?

I have forwarded your post to Shihan Cavalcanti for his comments. I would also suggest that you contact Shihan Churchill and Shihan Lawson as respective heads of The Zen Judo Family and The British Zen Judo Family Association they should be able to help as well.
The situation at present is that the American Zen Judo Family has been disbanded as an official organisation but Shihan Cavalcanti is still a Zen Judo Family Custodian. And we would recognise any American Zen Judo Club which was authorised by him or his senior Dan grades.
I would suggest that your first port of call should be the head of your old club or failing that Shihan Cavalcanti. Keep me informed of your progress.
