AMERICAN ZEN JUDO HANDBOOK ON
THE WEB
Thanks to our Webmaster, Andrew Ross,
pretty soon we will have the entire American Zen Judo
handbook on the web. That will include not only history,
reishiki, and time-in-grade pages, but also the materials
we study for each one of the belts. In the U.S. students
take a written test along with each grading that includes
history questions (i.e., "Who founded Zen Judo?" or "When
was Zen Judo founded?") and Japanese terms (i.e., what's
the translation for "Kubi Nage" or "Ashi Gake"?). For
security purposes the written test materials will be
available through the use of a password, but all Zen
Judoka will have access to the password. Again, thanks
Andrew for the good work!
THATCHAM ZEN JUDO WEEKEND
Sensei Mike Healy is trying to arrange
a training weekend for the Thatcham Zen Judo club. He
would like to make it available to all members of the
Zen Judo families. One of our privileges as Zen Judo
Sensei is to try and support our fellow Yudansha in their
efforts to create special trainings. Those bring the
families together.
If you can, and would like to attend please let Mike
know and if there are any areas on which you would like
to contribute by instructing so that he can put together
a programme for the event. Since Mike only has a limited
number of contact names and addresses, he is asking us
to please pass this on to other Judoka. Also, please
reply as soon as you possibly can so that he can get
on with booking the hall and so forth. Send all your
e-mails to Mike Healy (4th Dan BZJFA ) at mike.healy@sjpp.co.uk.
RADCLIFFE'S NEW WEBSITE
We are pleased to announce that Sensei
Gordon Lawson's club has a new website. Congratulations
to Gordon and Radcliffe. Slowly, but surely we are putting
Zen Judo on the Web. "Stop by" for a "visit" next time
you're surfing the web. The address is http://members.tripod.com/gordonlawson |
