The results of the poll would suggest that the formation of the BZJFA has been a very positive contribution to the continuing growth of the Zen Judo Style in both the UK and abroad. Since the sad passing of Shihan Dominick McCarthy 8th Dan, the founder of The Zen Judo Family, Zen Judo has had to adapt to survive and is now once again starting to bring closer contacts between the various clubs which practice the Zen Judo syllabus. It would be hoped that it would be possible for any student from a Zen Judo club to be welcome on any other Zen Judo Club mat, no matter what there past club's background might have been. As martial artists the main concern should be the continuation of the Zen Judo Style and showing the proper respect for any and all grades. After all no matter how high a grade we hold if we are to progress in our Judo then we need to be open to learning from all grades, including white belts.
