Bognor Regis Zen Judo Club – Receives Grant Cheque

Bognor Regis Zen Judo club will be marking its first anniversary on March 1st this year and a very successful year it has been.
From only four instructors and nine students at the first full training session the club has grown to over twenty members ranging from six to over fifty years old and from white to black belt.

year including the 30th anniversary of the founding of The Zen Judo style by Shihan Mac McCarthy 8th Dan, which was held in September at Petersfield Zen Judo Club at which two of the club’s instructors demonstrated the Katame-no-kata in front of instructors and students both past and present and Shihan McCarthy’s family.

The year has just been rounded of by the presentation of a cheque to the club by Bognor Regis Town Council to help the club to purchase training equipment and to take on more students in the future and also the donation by the clubs members of a weeks session fees to the Tsunami disaster appeal.
