This year marked the third martial arts course to be held at the Love Lane dojo at Petersfield, Hampshire. The spiritual home of Zen Judo. Once again a high level of instruction and a relaxed atmosphere contributed to a successful weekend.
Over the two day event we had eight instructors and twenty two students from 4th kyu to 6th Dan Black belt and sessions on Ju-no-kata, Judo groundwork, Karate, Akijujitsu boken and jujitsu short stick weapons work

Saturday
After a short warm up Saturday started with a groundwork session by Shihan Gordon Lawson covering
a number of turn overs, escapes and groundwork techniques. Sensei Neil Kydd and Jeremy Webber took students through a number of Akijitsu drills which demonstrated the fastest drop seionage I have ever seen.
After lunch there was a choice between Karate with Sensei John Cox (always interesting) and a nice relaxed session of Ju-no-kata with Shihan Lawson and Sensei Anne Parker. After a change of programme (I got out of teaching this year), the final session of the day covered Jujitsu groundwork with Sensei Tony Richards.

Sunday
On Sunday we again had a choice between Ju-no-kata and Karate with Shihan Lawson and Sensei John Cox and after a short break moved onto Combat Judo groundwork escapes and throws with Sensei Andy Lambourne and Tom Williams. Sunday afternoon covered sessions on Akijujitsu boken work and a final Jujitsu session with short sticks.
On behalf of the students I would like to once again extend my thanks for an enjoyable weekend and hope to see you all next year. If not at Nottingham in November.
